About Me

Fancy Animal is a bi-weekly showcase of contemporary music and art, located at Santa Monica's intimate venue The Dakota Lounge. Fueled by a fervent belief in the importance of synergizing disparate arts and a commitment to connecting the ever burgeoning community of Los Angeles artists and musicians, Fancy Animal creates a space to experience the latest in local music, dance, and performance while surrounded and stimulated by artworks of a range of media, including video, printed matter, photography and installation. In addition to the event itself, our goal is to cultivate an interactive online community through our blog, which celebrates visual and aural arts as well as the written word, with the intention of providing artists with an expanded network and a wider range of exposure.
